How to earn Ability points
In this FFXVI guide, we'll show you how to farm Ability points and how to use them properly.
In Final Fantasy XVI, Ability Points enable Clive to obtain new, more powerful skills and improve your talents. By unlocking more powerful abilities, Clive will be able to take on more powerful enemies and eliminate weaker ones more quickly.
At the start of your adventure, you won't have enough PCs (ability points). Some skills are particularly expensive, and you'll need a lot of AP to unlock them.
To obtain the "With Great Power" trophy, you'll need a total of 118,400 abilities points.
How to farm APs in FF16?
There's only one way to earn PCs in FFXVI, and that's by winning battles against enemies. At the end of a battle, you'll be able to see the number of experiences, gils and APs you've earned for the fight. You'll also be able to earn APs during certain side quest in FF16.
You can increase your AP gains by 20% by equipping yourself with the The Wages of Warcraft accessory, which will be available at Lady Charon's Toll. It's also possible to increase to 40% when you do the new game + by reinforcing this accessory with Blackthorne.
How do you spend APs in FF16?
You'll need to go to the Abilities menu and select a tree you'd like to upgrade. Don't hesitate to spend all your points as you progress, as you can reset them for free at any time and assign them elsewhere.
Some abilities are better suited to certain situations. By checking your enemies' weaknesses, you should choose to improve one tree rather than another. Your ability points only increase, which means that your options grow as you progress, and no points can be lost.
