Arithmancy Door Puzzle Locations and Solutions

In Hogwarts Legacy, there are several types of puzzle. One of these types of puzzle involves the various doors decorated with different symbols with a question mark on the walls near that door. Here's our guide to solve them.

On several doors in the castle, you'll see symbols in the shape of animals, insects and strange creatures. It's important to understand that these species symbols represent numbers from 0 to 9 (not 1 to 10). 

To help you understand the meaning of each symbol, you can find a scroll showing the number equivalence for each symbol inside a chest in the divination tower. * Finding this scroll is optional. You don't need to find this scroll to solve the riddle, as the symbols are already in order (0 to 9) at the top of the doors. 

When faced with a door decorated with various symbols and plaques with a question mark on the nearby walls, take a close look at the arch structure at the top of the door. It contains each of the symbols representing the numbers 0 to 9 (not 1 to 10). Just read clockwise to find out which digit the symbols correspond to. 

Once you've matched the right number to each of the symbols, look at the equations on the door (the equation is in the shape of a triangle with a number in the center and 3 circles around it). The riddle is simple: you just have to find the symbol corresponding to the right number (which will replace the circle with the question mark), so that when you add them all up, the number in the center of the circle is the same. 

It's important to note that there are 2 different equations on the same door. The first equation contains a circle with one question mark (?), while the second equation contains a circle with two question marks (??). When you roll the plates with one or more question marks onto the walls near the door, keep this in mind. It's very important to match the right plate (? or ??) to the right equation. 

Here's an example of an Arithmancy Door Puzzle next to the spells class in the astronomy wing. 

The 2 equations are:

• The top equation: 3 + 0 + ? = 5. Simply find the missing number and the equation will give 5 as the answer. In this case, according to the order of the symbols, the symbol equivalent to 2 is the 3rd animal. (? = 2).
• The equation at the bottom: 4 + (unicorn symbol = 1) + ?? = 12. = Simply find the missing number and the equation will give 12 as the answer. In this case, according to the order of the symbols, the symbol that equals the number 7 is the 8th animal, resembling a squid. (? = 7).

Once you've rolled the plates (? and ??) with the correct matching symbols, the door will open for you. Inside the room, you'll find one or more chests containing quality equipment and other rewards. In this room, we found sunglasses and a collector's item: Tower Arrow.

There are several doors decorated with different symbols and plaques with question marks on the walls near this door in the castle. Repeat the same reasoning for each door puzzle to reap the various rewards. 

• Each of the symbols corresponds to specific numbers, and they are the same for all the door puzzles.
