In this guide to Monster Hunter Now's Walkthrough, we'll explain how to complete the game by discovering all the enemies you'll encounter during your adventure.

In this Monster Hunter Now mobile game, you'll have to get out and save the world by tracking down and hunting down the most fearsome monsters from the Monster Hunter universe as they appear in your world. Forge powerful weapons and team up with other hunters to track down larger-than-life monsters and take them on together. If you're a fan of Monster Hunter and Pokémon Go, this is the mobile game for you!

Main quest guide

Prologue 1: The First Hunt - Defeating 3 Monsters

  • Reach level 2: It is now possible to hunt Great Jagras. Defeat Great Jagras to reach level 3.

Prologue 2: Aiming for Pro - Defeating 3 Monsters

  • Urgent quest: A Test of Skill - Hunt a Kulu-Ya-Ku (1 star). It is now possible to hunt Kulu-Ya-Ku.
  • Reach level 4. You'll receive 300 Zenny and can upgrade your weapons and equipment.

Prologue 3: The Secret of Strength - Defeating 3 Monsters

  • Urgent Quest: Venomous Villain - Hunt Pukei-Pukei (1 star). It is now possible to hunt Pukei-Pukei.
    • Reach level 5. You'll receive 1 paintball and 1 Wander Droplet. It's now possible to mark monsters with paintballs, either manually or via Palico. However, you need to activate your location in your settings to enable the app to mark monsters even when your phone is closed. 

Prologue 4: Reviewing the Basics - Completing the main quests

  • Reach level 6. You'll receive several rewards. It will now be possible to add friends to the game, hunt in groups and forge weapons and equipment. 

    * You will receive additional rewards if you add a reference code at the start of the game.

  • Reach level 7. 
  • Urgent Quest: The Mudstained Beast - Hunt a Barroth (1 star). It is now possible to hunt Barroth.
  • Reach level 8. Palico can now collect and store items in a bag. Palico can also collect items from gathering points even when the game is switched off, provided synchronization is enabled.

Prologue 5: ApprenticeshipTraining - Completing the main quests

  • Reach level 9. You will receive 1 paintball.
  • Reach level 10. You will receive 1 paintball.

Prologue 6: The Final Test - Last Prologue Before Chapter 1

  • Urgent Quest: A Greater Jagras - Hunt a Great Jagras (2 stars). You'll receive several rewards. It's now possible to hunt monsters (2 stars) and complete daily quests.
  • Reach level 10. You will be promoted to Expert Hunter. You can earn HRP points by hunting monsters and completing daily quests.

Chapter 1: Beyond the Dust Clouds

  • Using a special skill
  • Gather items 5 times at gathering point 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent Quest: Kulu-Ya-Ku Attacks - Hunt a Kulu-Ya-Ku (2 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Kulu-Ya-Ku resource.

Chapter 2: Shimmering Swamp

  • Equip the Kulu Headpiece 2 and use the lock once. 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Great Sword Weapon unlockled
  • Slay 3 monsters using a Great Sword
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent Quest: The Power of Paralysis - Hunt a Great Girros (2 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a resource from the Great Girros.
  • Reach level 15. New weapons can now be unlocked: Bow, Hammer, Long Sword, Bowgun.

Chapter 3: Lurker of the Forest

  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent quest: In the Shadow of the Thickets - Hunt a Kulu-Ya-Ku (2 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Kulu-Ya-Ku resource.
  • Slay a Great Jagras 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent Quest: Poisonous Peril, Pukei-Pukei - Hunting a Pukei-Pukei (2 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Pukei-Pukei resource.

Chapter 4: To Catch a Thief

  • Delivery quest: Obtain 10 Unique Mushrooms from a Vegetation gather point
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay a 2 Pukei-Pukei
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent quest: A Bolt from the Blue - Hunt a Tobi-Kadachi (2 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Tobi-Kadachi resource. It is now possible to hunt monsters (3 stars).
  • Reach level 20. You'll receive 1000 Zenny, 1 paintball and 1 Wander Droplet.

Chapter 5: A fluffy suspect

  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent quest: Don't Get Cocky with Kulu-Ya-Ku - Hunting a Kulu-Ya-Ku (3 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Kulu-Ya-Ku resource. 
  • Slay 5 monsters in the Desert habitat
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Optain 10 Felyne Food from gathering points 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent quest: Paolumu the Puffy Puffball - Hunt a Paolumu (3 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Paolumu resource. 

Chapter 6: The Gluttonous Mastermind

  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay 5 monsters in the Swamp habitat
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent quest: Mucky Mayhem - Hunting a Barroth (3 stars). You will receive 150 HRP and a Barroth resource. 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent quest: Gone Fishing: Jyuratodus - Hunt a Jyuratodus (3 stars). You'll receive 180 HRP and a Jyuratodus resource. It is now possible to hunt monsters (4 stars).

Chapter 7: Owner of the Footprints 

  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay 2 Great Girros
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent Quest: Toxic Tango With Pukei-Pukei - Hunt a Pukei-Pukei (4 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Pukei-Pukei resource. 
  • Obtain Odd Monster Tracks from a Mining Outcrop Gathering point.
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent quest: Fighting Dirty - Hunt a Barroth (4 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Barroth resource. 

Chapter 8: Raging Flames

  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay 2 Tobi-Kadachi
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent quest: Anjanath the Firebrand - Hunt an Anjanath (4 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and an Anjanath resource. It is now possible to hunt Anjanath.

Chapter 9: Bright Lights and Beasts

  • Slay 5 monsters in the Desert habitat
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Urgent quest: A Rock and Hard Place - Hunt a Kulu-Ya-Ku (4 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Kulu-Ya-Ku resource. 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent Quest: A Royal Audience with Rathian - Hunt a Rathian (4 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Rathian resource. It is now possible to hunt Rathians and monsters (5 stars).

Chapter 10: Glacial Gales

  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Urgent quest: Beast of Prey and Splendor - Hunt a Paolumu (5 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Paolumu resource.
  • Slay 2 Anjanath
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Urgent Quest: Beasts of Prey and Splendor - Hunt a Legiana (5 stars). You will receive 180 HRP and a Legiana resource.

Chapter 11: The Looming Threat

  • Gather items 10 times at gathering point 
  • Slay large monsters 5 times
  • Defeat 10 monsters 
  • Slay 5 monsters in the Desert habitat

Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies

  • Urgent Quest: King of the Skies: Rathalos - Hunt a Rathalos. You will receive 200 HRP and a Rathalos resource. You have now completed the main story. It is now possible to hunt monsters (6 stars) and the second lap story mode is now unlocked.

Monster Hunter Now: Post-game content

Once you've completed the main story, you'll be able to replay the story mode. This will allow you to increase the game's difficulty. You'll start by unlocking 6-star monsters (identified by a purple star) and above. It's always possible to level up. When you reach level 40, you'll receive 1000 Zenny, 1 Wander Droplet and 1 paintball.
