How to get iron, gold and clay nuggets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you'll quickly need to find iron nuggets, gold nuggets or clay nuggets for the various tasks and constructions. In this guide, we'll explain how to find the materials you need for your DIY workbench.
To obtain iron nuggets, clay nuggets, stone nuggets and sometimes gold nuggets, you'll need to hit the large rocks you find on the island with a shovel or axe. Iron ore, stone and clay are easy to collect. Gold ores, on the other hand, are much harder to find.
After hitting the rocks with your shovel or axe, you can pick up the ores that have fallen. Like the trees, you can have a limited number of ores per day. A rock can only give you a maximum of 8 resources. When you hit a rock, you'll have a limited amount of time to collect the maximum number of resources. Once this time has elapsed, the rock will no longer give you any resources for the day.
Resource extraction tip:
- Dig holes behind you to avoid slipping.
- Remove anything on a break away from the stone (trees, grass, etc.) so that the resources have room to fall.
- Don't eat fruit before hitting a rock, as you'll break it and won't be able to pick up the resources.
- Every day you'll find a rock that will give you bells.
- If you've destroyed all the rocks, the game will produce 1 rock per day somewhere on the island.
