In this Final Fantasy XVI walkthrough, we'll explain the full path of the "Capital Punishment" quest from the Act III.

Once in Rosalith, move forward to start a cinematic. Afterwards, Jill will mention going through the portal on the right. You'll get a tutorial on the Protect of enemies who won't be able to be hurt with melee attacks. You'll then have to use magic triangle or Eikonic Abilities to attack enemies with a shield.

Once the fight is over, climb the ladder on the left. You'll find Wyrrite at the top.

Follow the path and climb down from the ruins onto the road to start a cinematic. You'll then have to face a new enemy.

Once eliminated, pass under the stone structure for a new battle. During this fight, be careful, as some enemies are fast and jump all over the place.

Climb the stairs between the barrels to find a Potion on the right. Enemies, will attack you directly, including the Stone Headsman. This enemy is an agile mini-boss who uses poison gas.

Get rid of the other enemies first, and then deal with this boss. To counter its movements, try to perform a Stagger as quickly as possible.

After the battle, head northwest of the battlefield to climb the ladder.  Progress to find a treasure chest to the left of the stairs containing 135 gils and 10 spools of Steelsilk. Climb the stairs to find 3 Bloody Hides.

At the top of the stairs, you'll find a Potion on your left. Go through the portal to start a fight, thereafter take the 3 spools of Steelsilk.

Retrace your steps to see stairs to the left of the gate. Climb the wall to take a Potion on your right.

At the top of the stairs, you'll find a Treasure Chest with the The Will of Lightning (Pile Drive) accessory next to the High Potion.

Save your game before continuing. Climb the stairs to reach a large group of enemies. Enemy reinforcements will appear once you've eliminated a few of them. These include the Protect-throwing stone scepters, which you need to eliminate quickly.

After the fight, a cinematic will start, and you'll have to face a Couerl. This enemy is capable of electrical attacks. It will use Whipcrack, which allows it to hit you with its tentacles. The Couerl can also hit you with its claws or electrify its tentacles.

The Couerl is a fast enemy, but can be easily Staggered. After Staggering it the first time, the Couerl will use Electrocharge. You'll then need to attack the Couerl and quickly reduce its purple health bar as quickly as possible to avoid the attack.

After the second Stagger, the Couerl will use Wild Charge and cover itself with electricity. Avoid the electrical zones that form beneath you.

After the fight, you'll get 300 EXP, 60 ability points, 2,700 gils, 1 Couerl Whisker, 20 Sharp Fangs and 20 Magicked Ashes.

After the cinematic, exit the cell and turn right to pick up a potion. Go ahead and take the stairs on the right and pick up the High Potion and the Potion.

Continue up the stairs to find a Potion in the area where you fought the Couerl. You'll find another potion on the stairs.

Go through the big door to watch a cinematic. You'll then face a group of enemies including a Stone Gaoler. This is a mini-boss with a large axe. You'll have to get through two waves of enemies.

After defeating the Stone Gaoler, two Stone Headsmans will join the fight. Eliminate the enemies to start a scene.

You will then be isolated from the group, go through the wooden doors and theHigh Potion, climb the stairs on the right to take a High Potion.

Save your game, and open the main wooden doors to start a fight with Hugo.

First phase

Hugo will start the fight by charging at you, and will also deliver several blows as he moves towards you. He also possesses the Sledgehammer attack, which lifts you into the air to deliver a powerful blow to the ground.

In the first stage of the fight, Hugo's attacks can do enormous damage. When Hugo crosses his arms, it means he'll make a charge attack. If Hugo avoids an attack with energy, he'll retaliate with a Sledgehammer.

Using Garuda throughout the fight will be a great advantage. Destabilize Hugo to use Limit Break to gain hit points and attack him.

After the first Stagger, you will have to perform an intense Cinematic Evasion;

Second phase

The fight continues underground and Hugo gets new attacks. Hugo has more named attacks with varied effects.

Hugo can create a shield with his arms that will require you to use Eikonic Abilities or Fiery Blade to break.

As in the first phase of the fight, avoid these blows and be vigilant at the start of these attacks.

When he uses a certain attack with waves on the ground, don't hesitate to jump to simply dodge them.

Keep dodging and countering, to get a Stagger. After that, he'll be even faster and more violent in his attacks. Continue the fight to eliminate this enemy.

You'll get 1,200 EXP, 270 ability points, 5,400 gils, 1 Earth Shard, 35 Steelsilk, 2 Meteorites as well as the Twilight Rose trophy.

Now return to Hideaway to obtain the Power of Titan and complete this Final Fantasy XVI quest.
