Fire in the Sky
In this Final Fantasy XVI walkthrough, we'll explain the full path of the "Fire in the Sky" quest from the Act III.
Head northwest to reach a ladder. Climb it to start a movie.
Step forward to start a fight against enemies. They are numerous, but not very powerful.
Continue your progress to join other enemies. A Dragoon Knights, will join the fight.
After the fight, take the treasure chest with 15 Wyrrite pieces. Follow the path into the sewers, move forward and eliminate the Megalocrabs blocking your way. Then take the Potion then 2 pins of Magicked Ash further on.
Go forward to see a small scene, then continue by taking the Potion on the right. Pull a lever further to reach a group of enemies.
Once the enemies have been eliminated, continue forward to pick up a potion.
Continue straight ahead and eliminate the enemies present. Enemy reinforcements will join the fight, including a Elite War Aevis.
At the end of the battle, go through the portal on the left, you'll find a Treasure Chest containing 10 Sharp Fangs and 10 coils of Steelsilk. Climb the ladder and pick up the potion on the right.
Keep following the path to open a new door. You'll find a High Potion on the left. Go forward to reach some enemies.
Climb the ladder on the right, then go straight ahead and open the wooden door. On your right, you'll find a Potion on a barrel.
Go through the door to start a fight against a new enemy. Then go through, two wooden doors and take the potion on the left. Go forward and pick up the Sharp Fangs, then go down to do another fight.
Go all the way down to open a treasure chest on the left containing with the The Favor of Earth (Raging Fists), you'll also find in the area a High Potion.
Take the opportunity to save before progressing, as you'll have to face a boss.
Go through the door to meet the White Dragon. He'll start by hurling ice projectiles, followed by lightning bolts and a charge attack.
In hand-to-hand combat, the white dragon will strike with its electric claws, neck and wings.
After the first Stagger, the White Dragon will use the Emanation attack. Ice crystals that fly around the battlefield firing lasers. This attack is very difficult to dodge. When you see the ice crystals grouping together, run away from this point.
The white dragon also gains a new energy attack that swirls around you, then unleashes a six-line energy attack. Wait for the swirl to finish, then run away from the lines.
After the second Stagger, the White Dragon uses the Dragon Dance, which allows it to make several attacks. The final attack of this combo will always be a charge attack.
After the fight, you get 1,500 EXP, 200 ability points, 4,320 gils, 3 Whitewyrm Bone, 20 Sharp Fangs and 20 Bloody Hides.
After the cinematic, talk to Goetz if you need to buy items or forge equipment. You'll find the same stock as at Lady Charon's. When you're ready, talk to Jill to continue.
Go forward to pick up a High Potion on the right, then continue on through the wooden doors. You'll then have to fight someenemies.
Head to the north-west of the battlefield to find pass the portal and get 3 pieces of Wyrrite .
You'll encounter new enemies with a Lich as you progress. Enemy reinforcements will join the fight after a while.
After the battle, climb the wooden planks against the wall to join a Potion. You'll find a chest on the right containing The Breath of Lightning (Judgment Bolt) and 15 pinches of Magicked Ash.
Climb the stairs on the left to find 4 pinches of Magicked Ash on the right.
Climb up the slope and onto the wall to start a scene. Follow the path to fight Revenants, where you can pick up3 Sharp Fangs behind them.
Jump onto the opposite ledge and go to the top to see another scene. Move forward and get rid of the Revenants to see enemy reinforcements arriving.
Head to the northeast of the battlefield to find a wall to climb. You'll get 5 Bloody Hides on the way up. Continue to find a Potion.
Step through the portal to begin a battle against a Undertaker and other enemies.
Climb the wall to the north-west of the battlefield, and you'll see a Potion on your right.
Move forward to find a chest on the left as the path turns right. This chest contains Black Bood and 10 Bloody Hides. Step forward to find a High Potion.
Save your game and continue down the path to slide. You will then encounter the Necrophobe.
This boss starts with a charge attack, followed by a large projectile attack. He can retaliate with a sword attack in close combat. You should easily be able to avoid the attacks.
After the first Stagger, Necrophobe will use Elemental Dissonance which allows it to obtain new elemental attacks.
After the second Stagger, Necrophobe starts charging an attack. Take this opportunity to hit him to interrupt the attack. If you fail to interrupt the attack, Necrophobia will use Death and you'll get a Game Over.
Continue the fight to eliminate this boss, then you'll get 1,500 EXP, 180 ability points and 4,050 gils. For items, you get The Favor of Earth (Windup), 20 Wyrrite, and 20 Magicked Ash.
After the cinematic, go straight ahead and climb the wall. Go forward to find 3 pieces of Wyrrite and enter the building.
Climb the stairs and open the door to start a scene. You'll then begin a fight against Bahamut.
Fight with Ifrit
The battle begins with Cinematic Clash Opportunities and Cinematic Evasion. Upon arriving on the battlefield, Bahamut will strike the ground to release a shockwave. You can jump or dodge to avoid being hit. This boss can also make electric attacks with his wings, which you can easily avoid.
After a few attacks, Ifrit will learn Spitflare by pressing R2 + triangle to launch a powerful beam that strikes in a straight line.
Use Spitflare against Bahamut when he starts summoning energy orbs to strike you.
Throughout the fight, Phoenix will help you, but it's Ifrit who will have to inflict the majority of the damage. You'll then be able to take Bahamut off balance with ease.
Fight with Phoenix
After the first Stagger, you'll have control of Phoenix. A tutorial will appear to explain the controls.
Bahamut uses slashes, energy beams and energy orbs. The megaflash attack cannot be stopped, but normal dodges should work. Move around the screen to dodge the projectiles. After a while, you'll change zones, but this will still continue the fight in the areas.
After Bahamut's second charge, the battle changes location, but Bahamut uses the same techniques. Dodge and concentrate on the spheres. Once they break, you can shoot a vulnerable Bahamut.
Fight with Ifrit
After the scene, you resume the fight with Ifritt. Bahamut starts with the same attacks as the first phase. Fight until Phoenix destroys Bahamut. This is your chance to attack as much as you can.
When Bahamut uses Teraflare, Phoenix will make a protective zone. Enter this protective zone before the attack begins or you'll lose the fight. This leads to Cinematic Clash Opportunities that you must win before resuming the fight with Bahamut.
At this point, Bahamut shouldn't have many hit points left. Eliminate him to obtain 1,740 EXP, 100 ability points, 2,500 gils, 50 Sharp Fangs and 5 Meteorites.
Bahamut Phase 2
After the cinematic, the fight will continue and Ifrit will become Ifrit Risen. The fight will begin with Cinematic Clash Intense Opportunities, then you'll take control of Ifrit. Ifrit has improved versions of Ifrit's usual moves, as well as Lightspeed, Ifrit's version of Phoenix Eclipse.
The biggest challenge in this fight is to get to grips with Ifrit in aerial combat. Use Lightspeedto get closer to Bahamut and use aerial claw attacks.
After Staggering Bahamut, you can start using Backdraft Finish to inflict heavy damage.
After the first Stagger, you'll need to perform an intense Cinematic Evasion. Continue dodging the beam and perform a few quick claw combos.
After the second Stagger, Bahamut will use an attack that summons a large number of frontal fire rays that will be impossible to dodge.
When Bahamut prepares Teraflare, you must quickly empty the purple gauge before the attack ends.
After the second Stagger, Bahamut should only have a few life points left. Once eliminated, you'll earn 2,610 EXP, 300 ability points, 3,000 gils, 1 Shard of Light, 50 Draconic Ore and 50 Magicked Ash. You'll also earn the "Twin Flames" trophy.
