Headwind
In this Final Fantasy XVI walkthrough, we'll explain the full path of the "Headwind" quest from the Act I.
Move forward to climb the stairs and continue forward to lift the door. Move forward to join a group of soldiers. Once the fight is over, head for the door on the right, which you won't be able to get through. Then head for the windows on the left. One of them allows you to climb through, enabling you to continue. The path splits after you jump out of the window. Leaving you with two choices.
The Stairs
You can either climb the stairs and fight the enemies at the top, you'll find a Potion next to a body. You'll then need to pass through the doors to continue.
Open the door on your left to eliminate some soldiers. Go down the stairs and get rid of the soldiers, then turn to find a Treasure Chest containing 50 gils and 5 coils of Steelsilk. Turn again to go to the door and find 2 pinches of Magicked Ash on the way.
Left-hand path
Alternatively, go left and stay on the first floor and find a Wyrrite on your right, as well as a Steelsilk further on. Climb the wooden area with the white paint and go down. There will be several soldiers calling for reinforcements. Once the enemies have been eliminated, open the door on the left and turn right. You'll see Bloody Hides near the large wooden door.
Both paths will lead you to a Royal Royal Tognvaldr. Eliminate him and open the door behind to find a Potion as well as a chest on the left containing the The Favor of Fire (Scarlet Cyclone) accessory.
Then climb the stairs to find 2 Sharp Fangs as you go up the steps. Keep going up to see some guards running away. Pursue them to receive a tutorial on Well Guarded enemies. These enemies block frontal attacks, so you'll need to get around them to inflict damage. Rising Flame and Charged Magic can break guards. Eikonic Abilities like Heatwave can break a front guard.
During this fight, it will be quicker to use Eikonic Abilities to break through their defenses, or abilities like Burning Blade;
After eliminating the various waves of enemies, and enter the chapel on the right. You'll find Potion on the right. Take this opportunity to save, as the next fight will be trickier.
Go through the door to begin the fight against Chirada and Suparna. These two enemies use the same technique, with the exception of Suparna, who can fire several lines perpendicular to her position. The difficulty lies in the fact that these are two enemies at the same time.
Stick to one at a time to avoid slowing down the fight and causing you to lose a lot of hit points quickly.
Once you've inflicted enough damage, you'll need to perform an Intense Cinematic Evasion followed by Intense Cinematic Strikes. If you succeed, you'll destabilize Chirada and Suparna at the same time, giving you time to make your best attacks.
When enemies are back in the fight, they'll use Perfect Storm. Suparna will gust wind from the ground and Chirada will make frontal attacks.
Once one enemy is eliminated, the other will use Inheritance to strengthen itself. This allows him to improve his movements.
Once both enemies have been eliminated, you'll get Clouded Eye, Sharp Fangs and Magicked Ash.
After the cinematic, you're on your own for the rest of the mission. Climb the stairs, and head for the left-hand staircase. Go forward to reach a path that splits in two at the top. Go left and follow the path to reach a room containing a Treasure Chest containing a Meteorite.
Go back to the right. You'll find a Potion on the right. Open the door to find three items, including a Treasure Chest with The Favor of Fire (Heatwave).
Exit the room and go left, you'll find a potion on the way. Open the door to receive a tutorial on enemies using Heal. Eliminate the enemies and go through the north-west door.
Climb the stairs to find2 gils and continue up the ladder. Eliminate the enemies and go through the door. Go down the stairs to pick up the potion and return to take the right-hand path to join the enemies.
Get rid of them and fetch the Wyrrite. Open the door to get rid of the enemies inside. Then go out the other door and up the stairs to find 2 Sharp Fangs.
You'll have to fight another Royal Royal Tognvaldr accompanied by Royal Mastiffs as you pass through the door. Open the west door and you'll see a High Potion, then go into the room on the right to find Potion.
Climb the stairs and get rid of the two soldiers. You'll find 2 pins of Magicked Ash on the way up. Keep going up to find Bloody Hides. At the top of the tower, you'll find another potion in front of the door.
Save and open the door to fight Benedikta. She'll start by using Aerora and Aeroga attacks, which you can dodge. Benedikta also has a charge attack with her sword and can perform powerful hand-to-hand combos.
Always be ready to dodge quickly and use Phoenix Eclipse. Use Magic Burst to break her will Gauge and Stagger her. Use Heatwave to inflict heavy damage on Benedikta. She won't move out of the way of the counter and will suffer the full force of the damage. This allows you to inflict damage easily instead of remaining on the defensive.
When she's down to 25% health, you'll need to perform a Cinematic Evasion. She will then be completely healed, and Torgal will no longer be able to help you.
It starts with the Nosedive attack, which allows it to leave the battlefield and dive towards the ground. Stay away from the blue dot to avoid damage.
The Aerial Rain attack has three horizontal gusts of wind, which you need to dodge accurately to avoid them completely. Try to jump over the second blow to avoid wasting your dodge on the last one.
She'll also use the Aerial Rain attack, which will send her spinning around the arena, hurling projectiles at you. Once destabilized, she'll use Rammelfall, which will require you to perform a Cinematic Evasion and then Cinematic Strikes.
Next, she'll use Tornado to create a whirlwind on the battlefield, which you can avoid by running. She will then continue with her previous attacks.
Once Benedikta has lost 60% of her health, she will use Gathering Clouds. You'll then need to get out of the cloud vortex to avoid a Rammelfall.
After Staggering Benedikta, a third time so that she uses Deadly Embrace. Torgal will then join your group, and you'll need to perform two Cinematic Strikes. This will allow you to Stagger Benedikta a fourth time.
Continue the fight to the end to achieve the Final Destabilization. Once the fight is over, you'll get The Will of Fire: Rising Flames, Wyrrite, and Meteorite depending on the score.
You'll get the With Great Power trophy and start the next Final Fantasy 16 quest.
