The Hunter and the Hunted
In this Final Fantasy XVI walkthrough, we'll explain the full path of the "The Hunter and the Hunted" quest from the Act I.
Move forward to pick up the 4 pieces of Wyrrite and descend the cliff to the left. Then get rid of the group of Black Widows. These enemies will surround you and call for reinforcements. Move forward and jump over the water and advance to pick up the 3 Sharp Fangs.
Continue along the path to pass under a tree to confront a Minotaur. This is a rather large enemy that uses a club to attack you. The Minotaur's attacks are powerful, and a few blows can make you lose. He also has a charge attack that can knock you down.
Partially destabilize him with Magic Burst combos and Precision Counters from Precision Dodging. Once he's partially destabilized, you can use Deadly Embrace to stun him. Then attack his head and behind him. You'll get a Minotaur Mane after winning, as well as Sharp Fangs and Bloody Hides.
Now go under the tree and pick up the Potion. Go forward again to find 2 pinches of Magicked Ash. Turn left to find 3 Bloody Hides.
Continue on to find a group of Black Widows and Hornets. Defeat them and head northwest of the battlefield along the cliff and down. At the bottom, you'll get a potion.
Move forward to join another Minotauraccompanied by Arachne. These enemies are similar to Black Widows and will take away your fighting space to allow Minotaur to hit you.
Beat them and climb the wall to find a High Potion on the floor. Look to the left of the High Potion to see 4 Spools of Steelsilk. Take the opportunity to save before continuing.
Cross the bridge to start a cinematic. After the scene, you'll have to fight imperial soldiers. After this fight, you'll face the Knight of the Dying Sun and Cid will join the fight.
The Knight of the Dying Sun is joined by a Wyvern, but it's Cid who will take care of him. Concentrate on the knight throughout the fight, avoiding spear blows and running away every time he jumps.
Use Magic Burst combos to reduce his Will Gauge. When the Knight of the Dying Sun is partially destabilized, use Deadly Embrace to get free hits;
After the first destabilization, the knight will begin to use Double Jump and extend his melee combos. Don't forget to dodge several times and run away from the jump landing points.
The Knight of the Dying Sun will use Mirage Dive when he's almost out of hit points. He will then make several jump points around the battlefield. Don't stay within their attack radius so that Cid attacks the Chevalier, allowing vious to finish him off.
By winning the battle, you'll get 2x Imperial Link, , Thick Hides and Meteorites.
Now go to Hideaway to reach the infirmary, northwest of The Great Hall. After the cinematic, go to Charon to replenish your supplies. By the way, Lady Charon's Toll and the Black Hammer are back in production for your adventure.
You'll also unlock the A Place For Everyone and Moving Heaven and Earth quests. You can also report to Nektar, a Mog near the Arete Stone.
Talk to Charon to restock and talk to Gav near the exit of The Great Hall. You can now access Three Reeds on the world map, northwest of Hideaway to begin the next FFXVI quest.
