10 tips and tricks to know before you start
In Hogwarts Legacy, you'll face a multitude of quests and tasks to complete to progress through the story. Here are our 10 tips and tricks to get a good start in the game.
1. Open every type of chest you see
In fact, when you open chests, you can obtain gold coins, items and, above all, equipment. Keep them and sell them to stores. It's a great way to make money. It's important to know that your inventory capacity is quite limited, so it will be necessary to sell in order to be able to have space for other equipment.
* At a certain point, you'll get the Disillusionment charm (during the main quest: Secrets of the Library) to open the chests with an eye in the middle, each of which contains 500 gold coins, another excellent way to make money.
2. How do I get a larger inventory?
It's as simple as completing Merlin's Trials. The more trials you complete, the more you'll be able to improve your inventory capacity. Once you've completed 2 Merlin Trials, you'll be able to expand your inventory. Continue in the same way to expand even further. Merlin's Trials are unlocked when you meet Nora Treadwell during the main quest: Merlin's Trials.
3. Collect all resources you can find
It's a good idea to collect any resources you find on the ground (moonstones, jumping poisonous mushroom caps, etc.) or on bushes and plants. They can be very useful for making potions. Indeed, the Wiggenweld potion is a potion that allows you to heal yourself in combat. * Moonstones are extremely useful for developing your Room on Demand.
4. Investing in spellcraft for the Room of Requirement
Once you've collected enough money, invest it strategically to make your progress a little more enjoyable and efficient. Head to the Tomes & Parchments store in Hogsmeade and pick up some Spellcraft, which will enable you to make various pieces of furniture appear in your Room on Demand. This room is extremely useful in the game, as it allows you to produce potions, grow plants and even breed magical creatures that will provide you with additional resources! It's the best way to maximize your resources! This room is unlocked when you complete the main quest: The Room of Requirement.
5. Feel free to use Revelio every 5 seconds
In fact, the Revelio spell allows you to conjure up pages from the wizard's guide, which in turn allows you to obtain EXP. Collecting EXP allows you to level up and progress through the story of Hogwarts Legacy: The Hogwarts Legacy. This is what you learn when you complete the game's main quest: Welcome to Hogwarts. What's more, the Revelio spell brings out in blue objects, chests, secrets or hidden doors that could be part of a puzzle, for example. This is a great help, as they are less obvious to the naked eye.
6. Understand the combat and color system
When fighting enemies, you'll sometimes notice that they have shields of a particular color. Use your spells with the color corresponding to the enemy shield to destroy their defense. Instead of using your old magic, consider having different-colored spells in your shortcut so you can destroy enemy shields with different colors.
7. Take a look at your house chest
Walking around your common room, you've probably noticed a large chest. To open it, simply speak to Nelli Oggspire, near the metamorphosis courtyard. She'll tell you all about the Daedalian Keys, which will enable you to unlock certain types of lock, in which you need to align the dragonfly-shaped key with the lock in the center. Unlock the 16 locks with the Daedalian Keys to unlock the large safe located in your common room. Go to our guide to find out how and where to find the 16 locks with Daedalian Keys.
8. Completing side quests helps a lot
Indeed, completing side quests will allow you to acquire more spells. They can also enable you to obtain equipment, cosmetics and, above all, EXP to level up and progress in the story. Go to this guide to find out more about side quests.
9. Collect your rewards in the wizard's guide
Don't forget to check out the Challenges section of your Sorcerer's Guide, where you can receive rewards.
10. Pay attention to enemies' weak points
It's possible to discover each of the weak points of the enemies encountered in the game. They are listed in the collections tab in your Sorcerer's Guide.
