The Caretaker's Lunar Lament

In this walkthrough for Hogwarts Legacy, we'll give you the complete tutorial for the main quest: The Caretaker's Lunar Lament.

Head for Gladwin Moon, Hogwarts' concierge near the reception hall. Gladwin Moon will tell you about the Demiguise statues that seem to glow at night. Pick up the Demiguise statue near Gladwin Moon and follow him around the school.

• You can use the Revelio spell to find these statues. However, they only glow at night!
• What's more, if your character utters the words "Mine now Demiguise", you may be close to a statue of Demiguise. Explore your surroundings and use the Revelio spell if necessary. 

Gladwin Moon will show you the way to the teachers' tower. He will then give you the task of collecting 2 statues of Demiguise to enable him to carry out his evening duties.  

To do this, you'll first need to learn the Alohomora spell to unlock the doors. Simply press the corresponding command at the right moment and guide your mouse to follow the shape of the symbol. It's important to be quick, as you want to avoid the red steam coming from behind, otherwise your spell won't work.

Once you've learned the new spell, head for the door to the teachers' tower and use the Alohomora spell. You'll be presented with a mini-game in which you have to turn both sets of gears. Start by turning a single gear using the corresponding controls until you see a reaction. 

We recommend that you start with the red gear, turning it until there's a reaction and you see other gears moving. Then move on to the green gear. Turn this gear until there's a reaction and you see a green light come on in the bottom right-hand corner. We advise you to go gear by gear (start with the red and then the green).  

Once the door is open, enter the teachers' tower, using the Disillusionment Charm to avoid detection. You can also use Revelio to reveal authority figures and your basic throws to distract them while you pass behind them. 

Then retrieve the Demiguise moon from the prefects' bathroom. To open the door, use the Alohomora spell and repeat the above steps. Pick up the Demiguise moon at the back of the bathroom. Then head to the infirmary to retrieve the second Demiguise. Use the Disillusionment Charm spell and your basic spell to avoid detection if necessary. 

• Explore to pick up a letter or open chests as you go.

Then take the Demiguises moons back to Gladwin Moon undetected. He'll inform you that there are several hidden all over the place. You'll find the locations of all the statues in our Demiguises Statues guide. Find them all to improve your skills. And so the quest: The Caretaker's Lunar Lament comes to an end, making way for your next main quest in Hogwarts Legacy: The Helm of Urtkot.
