How to make money easily
In Hogwarts Legacy, you'll face a multitude of quests to progress through the story. However, some quests will require you to purchase items, ingredients and more. Read on to find out how to earn money easily.
1. Open every type of chest you see.
In fact, when you open chests, you can obtain gold coins, items and, above all, equipment. Keep them and sell them to stores. It's a great way to make money. It's important to know that your inventory capacity is quite limited, so it will be necessary to sell in order to have space for other equipment.
- At some point, you'll get the Disillusionment charm (during the main quest: Secrets of the Library Storage) to open the chests with an eye in the middle, each of which contains 500 gold coins - another great way to make money.
2. Collect all resources you can find
It's a good idea to collect any resources you find on the ground (moonstones, jumping poisonous mushroom caps, etc.) or on bushes and plants. They can help you make your potions. What's more, you won't have to buy additional potions or ingredients if you've already collected them, saving money for more important purchases.
3. Ask for financial compensation at the end of side quests (be a villain).
When you complete a side quest for a character in the game, it's possible to ask for a little extra financial compensation. There's no need to worry, as your choice of answer will have no impact on the story. This will earn you between 300 and 500 additional gold coins for each side quest completed where you have this choice.
4. Sell the magical creatures you've captured.
You can sell the magical creatures you've captured at in Hogsmeade. It's a simple way to make money, as each magical creature sold will fetch you around 120 gold coins each (a blunderbuss will have the same selling price as a unicorn, so make sure you sell a creature that's easy to capture!).
What's more, you can start breeding magical creatures, as they can reproduce when you unlock the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement.
5. Unlock padlocks with Alohomora.
When you learn the Alohomora spell during the main quest: The Caretaker's Lunar Lament, it will now be possible to unlock padlocks and thus enter different rooms and open the chests therein (if they correspond to the appropriate level, otherwise you'll have to develop your spell's ability level). Once again, there's no need to worry, as your actions have no impact on the story.
6. "Take care of your cauldron": Open your own store (PS5 exclusive).
At a certain point in the game, you'll be able to open your own store, selling your equipment for 10% more than in Hogsmeade. To do so, you'll need to complete the quest: Take care of your cauldron. It's important to note that this option is exclusive to players of Hogwarts Legacy on the PS5.
