Prisoner of Love (Hufflepuff)
In this walkthrough for Hogwarts Legacy, we'll give you the complete tutorial for the main quest: Prisoner of Love (Hufflepuff).
It's important to note that this quest is available exclusively if you chose to join the Hufflepuff House at the start of the game. In fact, people who choose to join the Hufflepuff house at the start of the game have the exclusive option of visiting Azkaban prison! This option is not available to other houses.
Head for Eldritch Diggory's self-portrait, located in the Hufflepuff common room. He'll ask you to help him solve a decades-old murder using the book you've found.
To find out more, Diggory will ask you to visit his great-niece Helen Thistlewood, who will provide you with all the information you need. What's more, solving this murder will give you the opportunity to recover the missing pages of your book, which are supposedly in the same place as the body of a missing boy.
Head for Helen Thistlewood, located in Upper Hogsfield. Use the Revelio spell to find the hidden chests and explore Helen's home to find the 3 letters.
In conversation with Helen, you'll learn about Richard Choucas' disappearance in the past. He wanted to meet a girl called Anne. However, her body was never found. When his headless ghost was spotted in Hogsmeade, Anne was wrongly convicted of the murder and sent to Azkaban prison.
In the past, Anne has tried to justify herself by saying that Choucas had promised her an adventure, that he intended to follow a map he'd found on pages stolen from Peeves. (The missing pages from your book!).
You'll need to talk to Anne to find out more about the riddles, the pages and Jackdaw's remains. Helen Thistlewood will help you get to Azkaban prison.
Step into the prison corridor and talk to Anne in her cell. She will tell you that Jackdaw has hidden something in a vault near Upper Hogsfield.
Before you leave, Helen will be attacked by Anne. She is wounded and will have to transplant elsewhere to recover as quickly as possible, leaving you alone for the rest of the quest.
Now head for the clue in the hill that Jackdaw left for Anne.
Once you've entered the cave, you'll come across a blocked door. You'll need to solve the riddle to progress. Simply use the Revelio spell to make the handles appear blue. Then use the Accio spell to move the highlighted handles (which you discovered thanks to Revelio) on either side of the blocked door.
- Don't forget to explore to open the chests.
Once you've opened the door, continue on your way, where you'll find Jackdaw's clue, a letter written to Anne. You can now leave the vault.
Once outside the vault, you'll meet the ghost of Jackdaw. You'll have a chat with him about your presence here and Anne's situation. Jackdaw will ask for your help in finding Helen and clearing Anne's name. He will also give you the location of the missing pages in exchange.
And so the Prisoner of Love quest comes to an end, making way for your next main quest in Hogwarts Legacy: Jackdaw's Rest.
