Part 3: Elder Mist Trials

In this Sea of Stars walkthrough, we'll take you through this part of the game in its entirety.

Once you've crossed the Mountain Trail, you'll meet the Elder Mist. You'll have to pass a test to officially become a Solstice Warrior.

To pass the final test, you'll need to bring 3 large artifacts by completing the associated challenges. However, the Elder Mist informs you that the monsters you will face are immune to physical attacks, and the use of offensive spells is forbidden. Complete the short tutorial to learn how to use magic without using magic.

This is when you learn the concept of vital mana. When you attack, small orbs appear. Use these orbs to create a booster and make bigger attacks. Using boosters is the only way to inflict damage on monsters during this test.

Once you've completed the tutorial, move on to the book, save your game, cook and rest as required. Once you're ready, you'll need to complete 3 challenges to collect the 3 artifacts.

Challenge # 1

You'll find a chest on the right. Open it to receive basic armor. Attack the enemies in your path (using boosts) and activate the nearby lever for the platform that will allow you to head left to climb up.

Attack the enemies and climb down the ladder. Climb down and activate the lever to move the platform once more. Lowering the ladder is important, as it will take you to the next platform on the right (after activating the lever for the 2nd time).

Attack the enemies in front of you and defeat them to reveal an artifact. Pick it up to complete the 1st challenge.

Challenge #2

Go forward and climb the wall in front of you to reach the platform where a painting is located. To retrieve this artifact, you'll need to answer 3 questions. Continue on your way to find the other 3 paintings with the questions above.

Question 1: Of these two actions, which one regenerates MP?
Answer: Attacking

Question 2: What is the name of the school you went to?
Answer: Zenith Academy

On your way to the 3rd question, open the hidden chest on the right to receive a recipe: Mushroom Scramble.

Question 3: One very important Solstice Warrior duty is to destroy Dwellers, who becomes vulnerable during which natural phenomenon?
Answer: Eclipse

Be careful! If you choose the wrong answer, you'll have to face enemies and climb to the top.

Once you've answered all 3 questions, pick up the artifact to complete the 2nd challenge.

Challenge #3

Jump down to reach the platform on the right and continue on your way. Climb again to open the chest and receive a shiny pearl. Attack the enemies in your path and activate the lever to reveal platforms that will take you to the 3rd artifact.

Defeat the boss (Elder Mist)

Once you've collected all 3 artifacts, head for the small floating structure and begin the final battle.

To defeat the boss, simply attack his right arm first, as it can inflict 20 HP of damage. Once you've eliminated his right arm, attack the boss. Don't forget to use vital mana boosts.

Beware, the boss can heal his right arm, so it's important to destroy it as soon as possible.

Keep attacking and use dishes or healing powers to keep your characters alive. Block attacks by pressing keys at the right moment.

The boss (Elder Mist) can inflict 3 types of attack:

• Punch: A giant fist comes down on you. It inflicts around 20 HP of damage to one member of the group. 11-13 HP of damage if you can block well.
• Counter-arrow: The boss's right arm can inflict a lot of damage, and to all members at the same time. This is why it's important to eliminate his right arm as quickly as possible.
• Healing Mist: His healing magic heals the right arm and restores around 45 HP. You need to use Valere and his Moonshot attack when he uses it. If you can bounce Moonshot magic three times, you can cancel this attack.

Once you've defeated the boss (Elder Mist), head for the exit behind you. The Elder Mist will introduce you to the celestial runes. Simply use the corresponding buttons to change the time of day and move the light to the small squares on the floor.

Use the celestial rune in front of you and direct the light onto the small squares to activate a bridge that will allow you to cross to the left. Repeat the same step one more time to exit this area.
