In this guide to the main quests in Super Intern Story on PC, we'll take a look at Chapter 1: Where Marvin learns to play by the rules.

As soon as the game begins, you'll find yourself in the locker room of the company you work for. You'll start out in a caterpillar suit, and your boss will give you some instruction on how to move and jump.

Leaving the locker room

You'll soon notice that the door on the right is locked, so it's up to you to find the passageway to Room 2 to begin your first task. To do this, simply jump over the lockers on the left and then jump over the lights on the ceiling to get to the top-right corner.

Take this small corridor to get to Room 2, which is fairly straightforward, since you can only take one path - the other passages are blocked. To get off the platform, simply press the down arrow and the jump key to drop below the platform. You'll arrive at a green door, where you'll begin your first task.

The bug Forest

To complete this chapter, you'll need to follow a number of rules and instructions that your boss will mention. If you follow all the rules and instructions, you'll succeed in your task. At a certain point, you'll have to be quick, as you'll have to complete some tasks before the hero arrives in the room.

Instructions given by the boss: 

  • It will first ask you to move to the middle platform. 
  • Move normally without attacking the hero. 
  • Fight the hero without killing him (leave at least 1 heart for the hero). 
  • Don't forget to close the secret hiding place (tree stump) when you've finished collecting the items you need.

Rules given by the boss:

  • Staying dead when hit.
  • When the hero's life is critical, always drop a heart. Never drop one when a hero has his whole life.
  • Always place 2 coins in the room before the hero arrives.

Then move on to the next room, where you'll meet Jim, another 4-month-old trainee. You'll learn that this level contains several rooms where heroes can come. This is where speed and coordination come into play.

Start by preparing the 4 rooms, placing 2 coins in each before the hero arrives. At some point, you'll need to place an item in a chest.

A little later in the level, Jim will give you a trap with which to ambush the hero. Jim will challenge you to use it 3 times on the heroes without killing them, in exchange for a reward. What's more, if you succeed in Jim's challenge, you'll receive an achievement.

During the last part of the level, you'll need to add doors formed in the game. When the hero attacks you, simply release a key if there's a door in the room in question. You'll also need to fill a large chest with treasure, which you'll need to order in advance each time. Coordination is very important at this stage.

Rules given by the boss:

  • Staying dead when hit.
  • When a Hero's life is critical (he only has 1 heart), always drop a heart. Never drop a heart when a hero has all his life.
  • Always place 2 coins in the room before the hero arrives.
  • Heroes may arrive in several rooms. Always be there before they arrive. 
  • When the room contains a chest, place an object in it.
  • You can release the bear trap anywhere.
  • A hero must always be able to leave the room he's in. If the door is locked, always release a key rather than another object. On the other hand, never give a key if the hero already has one in his inventory. 
  • Large chests should always contain rare items that can be ordered from the seal.

Once all the rules and instructions have been followed, the level will be completed. As a reward for completing this level, you'll receive the caterpillar costume. Return to the office using the floor tube on the right.

Get your badge

Then collect your badge from reception. To get there, simply go down the door to the right of the first-floor elevator. Then head left and chat with the character who will give you your very first collectible!

Then head to the checkroom to end the day. That's how Chapter 1: Where Marvin learns to play by the rules ends, leaving room for the next chapter, Chapter 2: Where a perilous situation is avoided by protecting a valuable asset.
