How to get coffee
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can get coffee from Brewster. Brewster is a pigeon who appears throughout the Animal Crossing series, starting with Animal Crossing: Wild World. He works in a cafe called The Roost, located on the second floor of the museum. In this guide, you'll find out how to bring Brewster to your village and get his coffee.
First of all, to be able to welcome Brewster to your village, you'll need to meet a few conditions.
- You must first unblock the Town Hall.
- To have received at least 3 stars of reputation in order to bring K.K. Slide the musician and to wait 1 day after his first concert.
- The museum must be built.
- You'll need to make 5 donations to Blathers at the museum (you'll need to give at least 1 sea creature, 1 fish, 1 insect, 1 fossil and 1 work of art).
When all the above steps have been completed, you'll need to make sure you've updated and follow the next steps to welcome Brewster to your village.
1. Head for Blathers at the museum, the moment you observe him thinking is the moment he tells you about his friend and gives you Brewster's photo so you can find him and invite him to your village.
2. Head for the pontoon and talk to Kapp'n about taking the boat to an island. You'll have to pay 1000 Nook Miles for the trip (Brewster will be on the first island you visit).
3. Once on the island, head for Brewster and have a chat with him. He'll share with you his passion for Gyroids. Keep talking to him until you confirm that he's coming to your village.
4. Return to your village on the way back to the boat and head for Blathers to tell him that you've found and met Brewster.
5. You'll find that the museum will be closed the next day to build a new cafe called The Roost, where Brewster will serve his coffees. After a day's construction, the café will open its doors. You'll find Brewster there, and you'll now be able to buy his coffees.
Additional tips
- In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Brewster opens his café in the museum in the 2.0 update. Here he once again serves takeaway and on-the-spot coffee for 200 and 300 bells respectively.
- You can also obtain your poster by scanning his amiibo card.
- Drinking coffee to go gives you strength (3 times).
- In the Animal Crossing: New Horizons version, Brewster is a little older (compared to previous versions), and seems to have become more patient: if his customer chooses to let his coffee get cold, he holds back from commenting until the third dialogue option, when he eventually suggests that he's waited long enough.
- When you buy your 50th cup of coffee from Brewster, you'll receive a Gyroids from Brewster.
- After a while, Brewster will suggest adding pigeon's milk to your coffee.
- Coffee comes in a variety of flavors, so your character's reactions to drinking it will vary.
- Once you've unlocked takeaway coffee, your residents will sometimes be able to carry some with them.
