How to receive clothes?

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a variety of clothes and accessories are available to personalize and style your character. In this guide, we'll show you how to get clothes easily.

1. Giving gyroids to villagers

You're almost guaranteed to receive a garment or accessory when you give a Gyroid to a villager. Please refer to our Gyroid guide to find out how to get one. 

2. The Able Sisters Shop

You can buy clothes and accessories at the Able Sisters Shop. Normally, the clothe shop is open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. If you activate the Early Bird Ordinance, the store will be open from 7:00 am to 9:00 om, while if you activate the Night Owl Ordinance, the store will be open from 10:00 am to 12:00 am. 

3. Landfill Container at the town hall

Check the landfill container in the Resident Services building. You may find items such as plants, clothing, resources, etc. in there.

4. Talking to villagers

Don't hesitate to talk to the villagers and give them gifts, as they may offer you clothes in exchange. 

5. Balloons

Some balloons can contain clothing. Check out our balloons guide to find out more!

6. Using Nook Miles

Collect your Nook Miles at the Nook Stop located in the Resident Services building. You'll receive 50 Nook Miles when you use the Nook Stop for the very first time. The number of Nook Miles will increase over the days until you reach a total of 300. After 7 days or more of consecutive log-in on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you'll receive 300 Nook Miles once a day. 

You can use these Nook Miles for rewards such as clothes or accessories not available elsewhere.

7. Using DIY plans

Clothing and accessories can be unlocked using DIY plans. All you need is the materials to craft them. Check out our DIY plans guide to find out more!

8. Seasonal events 

In-game events and seasonal events provide you with clothing and accessories. Check out our page on events or Pascal (a special character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons), who can get you clothes from the Siren collection, for example. 

9. Using your NookPhone

Personalize your clothes with your NookPhone!

10. In your mailbox

Don't forget to open your mailbox every day to collect the gifts sent by your villagers or your fictitious mother! Gifts can include clothes or accessories.
