Defense Against the Dark Arts Class
In this walkthrough for Hogwarts Legacy, we'll give you the complete tutorial for the main quest: Defense Against the Dark Arts Class.
Head over to Professor Hecat's Defense Against the Forces of Evil course in the Defense Against the Forces of Evil tower.
Don't hesitate to use the bewitched compass by pressing the corresponding command in the Wizard's Field Guide to find your way to the next quest.
Once in the classroom, you'll meet Sebastian Pallow and Léandre Prewett. Professor Hecat will teach you the Levioso spell. This spell allows you to levitate objects from a distance.
Spells are learned in mini-games: simply press the corresponding command at the right moment and guide the mouse to follow the shape of the symbol. It's important to be quick as you want to avoid the red steam coming from behind, otherwise your spell won't work.
Once you've learned Levioso, the teacher will suggest you practice on a dummy. Start by casting the Levioso spell, then follow up with the basic spell to break the yellow shield.
After your practice round, you'll have a friendly duel with Sebastian Pallow. During this duel, you'll need to use the following spells: Levioso (which you've just learned), Basic Spell and Protego (your basic shield). The aim is to use these spells and press the corresponding command when it appears on your screen to activate Protego.
Don't forget to cast the Levioso spell followed by your basic spell. What's more, you can also hold down the corresponding command when you perform Protego to counter-attack and stun Sebastian with Stupefix. Stunned enemies take additional damage, indicated by gold-colored numbers.

Even if you lose, there are no consequences. Once the duel is over, you'll be back in the classroom with Sebastian Pallow. Have a chat with him. He'll tell you about the exclusive, underground dueling club near the Clock Tower (run by Lucan Brattleby). And so the quest: Defense Against the Dark Arts Class ends, making way for your next main quest in Hogwarts Legacy: Weasley After Class. This will unlock the side quest: Magical Duel: Round 1.
