The Broken Slate

In this walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we'll give you the complete solution to the main quest: The Broken Slate.

To find out more about what's going on, Sidon suggests you visit Jiahto, located at Toto Lake, northwest of your location.

To get to Toto Lake, we recommend you to simply return to the Zora Domain by teleporting to the Mogawak Shrine. Then head for the highest floor of the estate and face the large waterfall. Jump down and use your Paraglider to get to the cliff.

Turn Ascend's ability to your advantage by using it on the rock near the waterfall. This will enable you to reach the upper platform (see image below).

Then head for the edge of the cliff and try to use Ascend's ability. At some point, when you lean against the cliff wall, it will be possible to infiltrate the stone.

Once at the top, head in the direction of Toto Lake, which lies to the north of the Zora Domain. When you get close to Toto Lake, you'll see a large cave (see image below). This is where Jiahto will be. Talk to him to trigger the main quest: The Broken Slate.

Jiahto will inform you that he is missing a Broken Slate piece. To complete the Broken Slate, simply find the missing piece to the right of the cave entrance. Use a Splash Fruit on the sludge which is covering the Broken Slate piece. Then use the Ultrahand ability to place the missing piece.

Once the Slate has been repaired, Jiahto will inform you that you'll need to consult King Dorephan to find out more. The Broken Slate main quest comes to an end, making way for your next main quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Clues to the Sky Islands.
