Hateno Village Research Lab
In this Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom side adventure guide, we'll give you the complete solution for the side adventure quest: Hateno Village Research Lab.
Once you've completed the main quest: Camera Work in the Depths and A Mystery in the Depths (this quest allows you to receive the Autobuild ability and an instruction build for the hot-air balloon), you'll need to repair Robbie's hot-air balloon. Good thing that you've just received the instruction build!
You'll then need to join Robbie at the Hateno Village Research Lab, located in the southeast area of Hyrule in Necluda. It's south of the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower. Going there will also allow you to unlock the tool that detects Shrines.
Once you've arrived in front of the research lab, speak to Robbie to receive the Shrine Sensor. This will enable the Purah Pad to tell you if you're near a Shrine.
Robbie will then ask you to test the new feature. Simply walk slowly towards the table in the center of the laboratory. A cinematic sequence is triggered in which Robbie is surprised that the detector is already picking something up.
Exit the lab and head down the hill to find this Shrine. You'll find a pile of stones that seems to block the entrance to a cave. Destroy the stones with the appropriate weapon and enter the Retsam Forest Cave. Look up at the ceiling and shoot the frog to receive a Bubbul Gem. Continue on to the Mayahisik Shrine. Complete it and return to Robbie in the laboratory.
Share your findings with Robbie, who will then suggest new features. This concludes the side adventure: Hateno Village Research Lab.
