Lost in the Dunes

In this Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom side quest guide, we'll give you the complete tutorial for the side quest: Lost in the Dunes.

* It's important to note that you can only unlock this mission after the fight against Gibdo in the Kara Kara Bazaar. You'll also need to be well equipped with a Broadsword Hammer (a weapon fused with a stone), as you'll be breaking a lot of stones, and some stones (the blue ones) can't be destroyed with Bomb Flowers. 

This mission is triggered by a conversation with Benja and his companion at the Kara Kara Bazaar. This bazaar is located in Gerudo Town. As you chat with Benja, he'll tell you that he and his companion are looking for Ponthos. To find him, simply head for the Kara Kara Bazaar Well.

Once inside, follow the stream to the Oasis Source. Break the blue stones with a Broadsword Hammer (a weapon fused with stone). Continue on your way to a large cave. You'll see several stones to destroy to reveal minerals. Destroy all the stone walls to reveal resources, a frog that you can shoot to retrieve a Bubbul Gem.    

To find Ponthos, destroy the rocks covering the stream on the other side of where you've arrived. Go ahead and continue destroying the brown rocks in your path. You'll find Ponthos sitting on the ground on your left. He will thank you and ask you to join him and his group at the Kara Kara Bazaar.

Return to the Kara Kara Bazaar and chat with the group. As a reward, you will receive a Blue Orb, which can be found near them. Ponthos will inform you that someone was interested in this kind of rare item in Gerudo Town. This is a useful item for completing the side quest: The Mysterious Eighth.
