Trail of the Master Sword
In this walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we'll give you the complete tutorial for the main quest: Trail of the Master Sword.
Once the Seized Construct has been defeated, Mineru will ask you to go and find the Master Sword , as it alone can inflict damage on Ganondorf. To do this, Mineru will recommend that you head into the Korok Woods to speak to the Deku Tree, who will know a little more about the Master Sword's whereabouts. Talk to the nearby Construct to unlock missions including: Ancient Blades Below.
Then head for the Lookout Standing to share your findings with Purah. She will also tell you to head for the Korok Woods to talk to the Deku Tree.
However, you'll soon realize that it's not possible to enter the forest from above. You'll have to enter through the Depth. To do this, head for the underground Korok Grove. Here you'll encounter several Korok who are unable to climb back up into the forest just above due to the miasma.
Head for the Rikonasum Lightroot, near the platform where you can use Ascend ability to climb up to the Korok Woods. Activate this root and you'll be able to teleport there next time. To find out if you're on the right path, you'll come across several Korok nearby.
Once under the platform, use Ascend to reach the Korok Woods. You'll notice that the miasma seems to be hypnotizing all the Korogu, and the Deku Tree doesn't seem to be in the best of shape. Your aim is to eliminate the miasma.
Before doing so, we recommend you complete the nearby Musanokir Shrine, so as to be able to teleport there next time. Then head for the trunk of the Deku Tree, to the right of the Shrine.
- Warning! Before progressing, make sure you're equipped with dishes that enable you to resist miasma and restore broken hearts.
You'll see red miasma at the bottom of the tree. Head there and jump into the Deku Tree root.
When you reach the bottom, you'll suddenly be confronted by Gloom Hands. Try to avoid them, as they are capable of catching you in the air, inflicting damage and breaking your heart receptacles. To defeat them, we recommend that you throw Bomb Flowers at the Gloom Hands in order to defeat them as quickly as possible.
Once the Gloom Hands have been eliminated, prepare to face a Phantom Ganon. Repeat the technique you used in the main quest: Crisis at Hyrule Castle - Part 2. In fact, the special action: Backward Flurry Rush will be extremely useful. Simply lock the target (the enemy) with ZR, press X to jump while holding Stick de gauche to move backwards. Keep an eye on your life bar and eat food as needed.
Once Phantom Ganon has been defeated, the miasma will disappear from the Korok Woods. Ascend to the top using Ascend (head for the edge) or teleport to the Musanokir Shrine. Once up there, you'll see Hestu nearby, trading Korok Seeds to expand your inventory if necessary. Also talk to nearby Korogus to unlock missions including: The Secret Room and more.
To talk to the Deku Tree, simply stand on the slope leading into the trunk (without going inside), then use Ascend's ability to climb up and you'll find yourself in front of a small trunk. Stand on it to talk to the Deku Tree.
The Deku Tree will show you the location of the Master Sword. However, it seems that the sword is constantly on the move. And so the main quest: Trail of the Master Sword comes to an end, making way for your next main quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Recovering the Hero's Sword.
