Mission 2: Secure Energy Source

In this guide to the main quests in Pikmin 4 on Nintendo Switch, we'll be taking a look at the second mission, Secure Energy Source.

Once the ship has been repaired, Collin will ask you to bring him some treasures, as they contain Sparklium, which will enable the ship to be restarted. You'll need to collect several sparkling objects to reach 300 Sparklium.

Open the map on your tablet using bouton plus to locate the treasures. Treasures are identified by stars on the map. Once you've located the treasures, you'll need the Pikmins to help you transport the treasures back to base.

To do this, head for the little flower sticking out of the ground and ask Oatchi to dig it up. Oatchi will carry the flower to its base, and you'll see that it's a red onion. Dig up the shoot below the red onion and welcome a Pikmin! Using your very first Pikmin, you can collect others by throwing them at the flowers. The number on the flower is the number of Pikmins needed to collect more Pikmins.

Next to the red flowers, you'll find a pink fork. Ask Oatchi to dig it up and bring it to the base to retrieve the Sparklium.

Then head for a bucket with a Game Boy at the top. Use Oatchi and charge at the seal to knock the object to the ground. You'll need to find at least 10 Pikmins to carry this object.

You'll also find a Path Creator high up, which can be retrieved by throwing 5 Pikmins at it.

This brings the first part of the Secure Energy Source mission to a close, as you'll now have to collect 1,500 Sparklium.

Sparklium value of objects:

• Noble Bident spade (pink fork) = 50 Sparklium
• Stone of Advancement (Game Boy) = 150 Sparkliums
• Path Creator (bell) = 150 Sparklium
